For this master's class project, a senior communications manager from Honeywell Quantum Solutions needed fresh ideas for creating interest and engagement in the growing field of quantum computing. To that end, we were tasked with creating materials that would explain what quantum computing is and why it is important, in a way that ordinary citizens of varying ages could understand.
I pulled from my experience with creating multimedia for e-learning systems, and proposed utilizing gamification in order to teach quantum computing principles through gaming apps on tablets and smartphones. The same gamification principles could then be expanded to other access points, like a website or independent educational modules for schools, in order to reach various age groups.
