As part of a master's class on managing communications systems, a consultant with the Colorado Rockies presented to our team an emergency scenario that transpired at Coors Field in 2003.
Our challenge was to create a disaster communications plan for the organization that addressed the 2003 incident, but incorporated modern technologies into the response.
I found the challenge fascinating. I have been interested in disaster and emergency communications for a very long time, and this project confirmed for me that I really do have a knack for it. I continue to study disaster planning on my own.
